In Home Maintenance For Synthetic Extensions -
Cleansing Your Extensions :
1. Your Extensions should be washed every 4-6 wearings.
2. Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles or teasing with your fingers or a pick comb. Do not brush.
3. Add one teaspoonful of any mild shampoo that specializes with color care into two quarts cold - never hot - water.
4. Immerse the clip in extensions and soak 3-5 minutes, then gently swish up and down. Do not rub.
5. Rinse thoroughly twice in cold water.
6. Dab gently with a towel to remove excess water. Do not squeeze or twist.
7. While still wet, spray with a leave-in conditioner that is specially formulated for synthetic hair goods, or the Johnson and Johnson Baby Detangling spray or Suave Childs Spray with your favorite fruit smell.
8. Do not brush or comb while wet as it may stretch or otherwise damage the fiber.
9. Hang to dry at room temperature.
10. Style with fingers, pick comb, or wide tooth comb.
DO NOT USE HAIR DRYER, BLOW DRYER CURLING IRON. AVOID EXCESS HEAT.
(This is not true for the Tru2Life heat resistent synthetic products)
Between Wearings:
Spray with a light mist of leave-in conditioner to keep your extensions looking fresh and healthy.
Gently remove any tangles using your fingers, pick comb, or a wide tooth comb.
A water soluble hair spray may be used for a light hold.
Styling The Hair:
Because the curl pattern (or lack of a curl pattern) is baked into the fiber, it is not necessary to set your extensions after washing. However, if you wish, wet setting is the safest way to curl your extensions. Blow dryers, curling irons and other thermal tools should not be used on synthetic fiber as the heat can melt the fiber. This is not true for the Tru2Life synthetic products.
Storing The Hair:
It is best to store the extension systems flat in plastic bags or on one of the Hairdo Hangers.
